Introduction
Animals to which this Act applies:
In this Act, "animal" refers to any vertebrate or invertebrate excluding the slime species.
In this section, “vertebrate” means any animal of the sub-phylum Vertebrata of the Phylum Chordata and “invertebrate” means any animal not of that Sub-phylum.
Animals in the embryonic stage are included in this Act.
"Protected Animal"
An animal is considered protected under this Act if:
It is a native species of the Epystal Islands.
It is living in a captive state, temporarily or permanently, within the Epystal Islands.
Prevention of Harm
Unnecessary suffering of animals or plants:
A person commits an offence if:
An act of theirs, or a failure of theirs to act, causes an animal to suffer.
They knew that an act taken on an animal or plant would cause it to suffer.
The induced suffering of an animal can be deemed "unnecessary".
Suffering is considered unnecessary if:
Actions could be taken to prevent suffering.
Suffering is considered necessary for:
- The purpose of benefiting the animal.
- The purpose of benefiting people, properties, or other animals.
Applying toxic pesticides:
A person commits an offence if:
Pesticides applied to flora have the potential to have negative effects.
Pesticides have not been legally signed as "non-toxic".
General Precautions
General precautions regarding water:
It is the duty of any slime to encourage and promote:
The conservation of the natural beauty of inland and coastal bodies of water.
The conservation of flora and fauna which are dependent on an aquatic/semi-aquatic environment.
It is the duty of any slime to:
Remove any noticeable litter in any body of water.
Activate simple filtration systems in case of polluted waters.
General precautions regarding air:
It is the duty of any slime to encourage and promote:
The conservation of the natural beauty of the atmosphere.
The conservation of airborne flora and fauna.

The removal of excess slime in locations that could be deemed toxic to native wildlife.
Prosecutions
Community Service:
A slime found guilty of any offence under this Act shall be liable on summary conviction to:
Community Service in one's home settlement, involving:
- Litter-picking/street cleaning.
- Deep-cleaning public toiletries.
- Volunteering in social groupings.
Community Service in a licensed Animal Sanctuary.
